ABOUT ARRAN-ELDERSLIE

The Municipality of Arran–Elderslie is a township in Bruce County. The township is located at the headwaters of the Sauble River, with the Saugeen River forming the northwestern boundary. The township comprises the communities of Allenford, Arkwright, Arranvale, Burgoyne, Chesley, Dobbinton, Dreamland, Dunblane, Ellengowan, Elsinore, Gillies Hill, Invermay, Kelly's Corners, Lockerby, Mount Hope, Paisley, Salisbury, Tara, Vesta and Williscroft.

Chesley is one of Bruce County’s charming small riverbank communities; referred to by locals as “The Nicest Town Around." Also known for the iconic Big Bruce, a statue of a giant bull standing at the north end of the town.  The Community Parks are enjoyed seasonally with outdoor swimming and splash pools, a skateboard park, boat launch, picnic pavilion, and plenty of places to use that fishing pole.  Locals and tourists come for the beautiful Heritage Trail, which can be enjoyed year round for hiking or walking and is surrounded by wonderful scenery.

The town of Paisley is strategically located at the convergence of the Teeswater and Saugeen Rivers, and is known to be one of Bruce County’s most picturesque towns. The Saugeen River is one of Ontario’s major waterways, and the access points at Paisley are a popular starting point for long-winded trips out to Lake Huron. In the spring the Saugeen River at Paisley lights up with kayaks and canoes galore!  Paisley is also a popular destination for mountain bikers, hikers, and even horseback riders. The Brant Tract at Paisley has 20 kilometers of single-track trails designed specifically for mountain biking and hiking, and an additional 10 kilometers of double-track trails, which are designed for multi-use. The trails are open for all four seasons, and are a great destination for family fun.
