Ripley has long been known as the "Hub of Huron" for good reason. The center of the former Township of Huron, it is situated almost in the heart of the Township of Huron-Kinloss. The community boasts a post office, legion, retirement home, an arena, soccer fields, a library, a school, tennis courts, three churches, a ball diamond, various stores, restaurants and a volunteer fire department. Unique to Ripley are cluster of businesses that specialize in handcrafted and custom items. You will find homemade jewelry, baked goods, handcrafted candles, beautiful clay and glass items created at a studio in town, wooden rocking horses (Ripley Rockers) and more!
Ripley is also home to the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens. This public garden is the first of its kind in Canada and uses tourism to address the issues of food insecurity, sustainable agriculture and the plight of the small family farm. The focus is on rare, endangered, heirloom, and ethno cultural food plants and showcases over 250 varieties with over 10,000 plants overall in the Phase One development.
Nearby, Lucknow has a thriving business community, a sports complex, six churches, seniors homes, schools, service clubs plus cross county skiing and snowmobile trails. The
Lucknow Community Greenway with its 5-km walkway follows the banks of three creeks where they meet with the Nine Mile River. Anglers can dangle a hook for both warm and cold-water species, including rainbow and brook trout.
Point Clark is a pretty residential community tucked into the shoreline. A quiet, sandy beach is adjacent to the
lighthouse tower, perfect for a relaxing day by the water. Lighthouse Park is equipped with playground equipment and washrooms. Point Clark also has a small harbour and boat launch ramp. Four nature trails are accessible at various points throughout Point Clark. Cross-country skiing during the winter months is a popular activity.
Plan a Sunday drive down the back roads and around the beautiful rolling hills of Kinloss. Recently, Kinloss has become home to hundreds of Mennonite families. You will notice many small family farms, windmills by the farmhouses, farm businesses, and you will likely meet a few horse-drawn buggies on your travels. Stop by the farm gates to pick-up fresh produce, flowers, and other treasures.

Point Clark Lighthouse
Being one of the first of the “Imperial Towers” to signal to sailors, and having marked its 150th Birthday in 2009, makes this beautiful historical structure a fantastic tourist destination.
Although acquired by Parks Canada in 1967 to commemorate the vital role of lighthouses in navigation on the Great Lakes, it still serves its primary function - an aid to navigation.
